Gian’s Past Websites

I learned how to build my first website back in 1997. I was taught how to build it by a wonderful IUP Computer Science professor named Dr. Mary Mico. She has since passed away, but she was a great teacher and a very kind-hearted, helpful woman.

Below are links to a few of my earlier websites:

Teacher Web Sites

Over the years, I have helped lots of graduate students build their own teacher websites. This is a great way to learn how web technology works, it helps the teachers create an online teacher presence, and, perhaps best of all, it’s a lot of fun. There is nothing like seeing your web page go live for the very first time.

The guide below explains the basics of creating a good starting teacher web site:

Undergraduate Student Websites

My writing courses regularly include an online component. I want my students to have a chance to share their writing with an audience beyond just one teacher, so I teach students how to publish their writing on the Internet and how to create web pages.

Students Working on the Web

Of course, many of the students quickly surpass my technological skills and create highly advanced websites. And some projects have even led to full time jobs for the students who created them.

Over the years, students in my courses have created a wide range of home pages and interesting web site projects. Some of these projects were later adapted for official use by their respective target audiences. Below I’ve posted links to project pages created by graduate students and undergraduate students. Please note, however, that over time some of these links will become inactive as students graduate or move their web pages to other internet servers.
